If you think you can’t eat delicious healthy vegan food then watch this video. If you want a meaty vegan food replacement for your fried chicken sandwich or the spicey wings you used to love before you went vegan, then you have to try this recipe. Even if you don’t love meat, like me, you will love this recipe because it is so hearty, & full of flavor yet with no compromise in the health category. Crunchy, spicy, and satiating & when you dip these amazing nuggets into any of your favorite sauces or put them between a bun, you will moan from the glory of flavor combinations. This is truly a spectacular recipe for you today my friends. Enjoy!!
Add the vinegar to the soy milk and set it aside.
Break the mushrooms into chunks and marinate them into soy milk.
To the bowl that has your flour add the bread crumbs.
Now dd all of the spices to the bowl & stir.
Take the mushrooms out of the soy milk and put them in a separate bowl. Keep the bowl of soy milk as you will use it to dip the mushrooms in it again. Now set up your dredging station with your bowl of vegan buttermilk and your spicy flour coating bowl next to each other.
Take on a mushroom chunk and drop it into the milk mixture. Then drop into the flour mixture, back to the wet mixture, and one last time into the dry mixture & finally place into the air fryer. Note: (Be sure to use one hand for the milk mixture and one hand for the flour mixture to keep it clean, but no worries you can wash your hands many times if need be! LOL)
Continue dredging: wet-dry-wet-dry & place into the air fryer until the air flyer is full.
Set air fryer to 380F and cook for 8 minutes, Turn over and cook an additional 5 minutes or until crunchy and golden brown.
While the mushrooms are in the air fryer cooking make a nice Remoulade sauce by combining some vegan mayo, ketchup, mustard, vinegar & sweet pickle relish. Stir to combine and set aside.
Remove air-fried mushrooms and enjoy individually dipped into your sauce or put them in your favorite burger bun with tomato slices, lettuce, arugula, and of course the Remoulade sauce piled on! Be creative and enjoy any way you want! You have my permission to moan from ectasy! :-)
