Tostone or fried plantains are a favorite of many Latin American countries.
Peel green plantains & slice diagonally in about 1 1/2” slices
Heat oil in the pan to medium-high heat
When hot add sliced plantains
Brown plantain slices in oil & turn over & brown on the other side
Remove from oil & smash
Put back into hot oil & fry for the second time
Remove & sprinkle salt
Enjoy alone, top with guacamole or enjoy in a beautiful bowl of rice & beans.
