Ayurvedic Detox Kitchari

Kitchari is an Indian dish that is used by Ayurvedic practitioners & doctors to help people heal because it is filled with healing spices & detoxifying Mung Dal beans. It is especially used because of its easy digestible ingredients of white rice and the split mung dal beans. This recipe is so delicious yet so healthy & it is great to eat something that tastes good while it is healing for my body. This is a must-try because it is super fast & easy and you can make it in an Instantpot or a simple pot on the stove with little effort. In less than 30 minutes you have a delicious meal. Try it!

Ayurvedic Detox Kitchari
INGREDIENTS
 1 cup WHITE RICE
 ½ cup Organic MUNG DAL BEANS
 ½ ONION chopped
 2 Cloves of chopped GARLIC
 1-2" Piece of GINGER shredded or chopped
 2 cups Chopped CAULIFLOWER pieces
 1 Smalll chopped TOMATO
 2 cups WATER
 ½ tsp MUSTARD SEED
 ½ tsp CUMIN SEED
 ½ tsp CUMIN POWDER
 ½ tsp GARAM MASALA
 ¾ tsp TUMERIC POWDER
 ¾ tsp CORIANDER POWDER
 SALT to taste
 CILANTRO for garnish
DIRECTIONS

Turn on the pan to heat it up. Add mustard seed and all the spices to toast them just for a minute or 2. Be sure to stir them while toasting them.

Now add onion and stir. Then add garlic and stir.

Add the chopped tomato and ginger and stir.

Add the rice and mung dal beans and stir.

Add the cauliflower pieces.

Lastly, add 2 cups of water

If using a pan on the stove bring to a boil without the lid on and once it is boiling cover the pan and let cook till rice is done (about 15-20 min). If using an instant pot then choose pressure cook and cook for 3 minutes. Let rest for 10 min after it is done then let steam out and enjoy!
