Start by warming the milk on the stove. Do not let it boil just warm it.
Add the oil to the milk, stir & set aside.
To a stand mixer add the flour, yeast & mix till combined on speed 1 or 2.
Now add the milk/oil mixture & the vegan yogurt & combine on speed 1 or 2 which replicates hand kneading. (Knead by hand for 8-10 minutes).
The dough should be well-combined & soft.
Take out of mixer and form into a ball. The dough should be soft and pliable.
Dust your work counter with flour and form the ball of dough into a log & cut into 5 pieces.
Form each piece into a round ball by pulling edges under or rolling on the counter with your hand to form a nice ball.
Grease your hands with olive oil and coat each dough ball. Place on a baking sheet & cover with a towel.
Put in a warm place to rest & rise for 1-2 hours.
Before you start rolling heat your skillet or griddle to high.
After the dough rises, flour your work space and begin to roll the first ball by first flattening with your hand into an oblong shape & then roll from the middle of the dough to the top; & middle of the dough to the bottom.
Flip over often and continue rolling until you get the desired shape.
Place on HOT griddle or pan & watch the bubbles form. After only 30 seconds or so bubbles will form which means you are ready to peak under & see if naan is browned perfectly.
Flip and cook very shortly on this last side.
When done immediately brush with olive oil & garnish with garlic & cilantro.
Place in a wet dish towel & cover to keep moist and soft while you cook the others.
ENJOY the most delicious naan ever!
