Today is a day I feel thankful for all I have, but also it is a sad day for me when I think that almost 50 million turkeys will be killed for tomorrow’s Thanksgiving meal. That just breaks my heart. I feel too sensitive at times to live in this world but I want to use my sadness to help take some action for change. Most of us grew up eating meat and not making the connection between our food & the compassion for the life of that animal, therefore it is not helpful when vegans judge meat-eaters because we have all been there. We need to channel our energy of sadness for change in the world. The planet is being destroyed by human overconsumption, the animals are being raised so inhumanely since we need vast amounts of food for the population growth that is unsustainable, but there are millions of ways we each can do our part to participate in the necessary change that must happen. Kindness & leading by example is first because no one changes when they are scorned. Education is next, but it has to be done with integrity & science, and right now we are living in a world where lying is the new truth and science doesn’t matter, therefore education is difficult right now. But we can’t give up. I want to SHOUT out the truth until my last day here on earth. I want to be the voice for the animals and the planet with every breath I take. I want to live by example because I want others to see how easy, delicious & healthy you CAN live as a vegan, and by eating a healthy whole food plant-based diet. And there is no better day to do this than Thanksgiving because it is a day where tradition in my country of the USA is to kill 50 million turkeys for the big meal. Yes, I said 50 MILLION. Therefore, I won’t be taking part in this horrible stat & I want to encourage you to try a plant-based Thanksgiving, so you too can choose not to participate.
Once you have great recipes, you will learn that a vegan Thanksgiving is even more delicious, and without all the side effects. As many of you know I started a YouTube cooking channel called Sol Canyon Kitchen to help get the word out about how delicious plant-based meals can be. If you want some great ideas for Thanksgiving be sure to try our Miso Mushroom Gravy & our Thanksgiving stuffing. They are phenomenal and I have worked on them for years to perfect them. Give them a try this year! We post every Monday and our latest one is the Fresh Basil Spring Rolls, which are super healthy & a must-try too. Be sure to subscribe & hit the notifications button so you can learn more delicious recipes but also for a laugh or two!
But now back to Thanksgiving… We all know that this Thanksgiving (November 26 of 2020), brings with it even more challenges because of all the difficulties that so many have faced due to the Coronavirus. At times like this, it can be difficult to find reasons to be grateful because grief has a way of zapping joy right out of our life. I can assure you we all still have things to be grateful for no matter how bad this year has been. The world is in upheaval right now in so many ways, our planet is being destroyed from overconsumption and a lack of belief in scientists who have warned us for years that we needed to act in order to prevent these weather patterns we are now witnessing, and that is only one example. We also can witness how sick our population is getting from the overconsumption of animals & their by-products, the processed foods, and the high-fat diet that America is known for & which other countries have adopted from us. We are at a breaking point and I believe in the saying “from the ashes will rise the phoenix” because I believe thru destruction comes rebirth. The only problem with this is when the planet is destroyed, so are we! The earth will be reborn, but it will be without us. We are the caretakers of mother earth & we have failed greatly. For those of us that have tried to live consciously in our actions to protect our planet & its beautiful creatures, it is such heavy grief to carry around when we see this destruction. But we can’t give up.. we have to keep living by example, spreading the word, and give hope to our young generation that already is angry at the state of the planet we are handing over to them. We just have to keep on keeping on and never give up.
The remedy of grief in homeopathy is IGNATIA. I think those of us in this group need a daily dose of this remedy because it can feel so hard to keep going when destruction is all around. But strength is in numbers and I do believe that goodness will prevail over evil. Ignatia has an affinity for the NERVOUS SYSTEM, and Lord knows, we are all stressed out during these difficult times. It is the remedy for grief, worry, fright, or shock, which so many have experienced in this year of 2020 more than ever before.
I am thankful this Thanksgiving for so many things. Although it has been a difficult year for me too, there have been parts of it that have been life-changing. I was able to launch my VS CLUB during the quarantine, which I wanted so badly to do and never had time. I was able to experience putting 100% of my time into my VidalSPEAKS business because of the loss of my work & that is something I never experienced. I was most happy in those days although it was also difficult to lose the income. I could spend more time with my partner Lloyd & my soul cat Luke, and that was a dream. I feel grateful I have not lost anyone to the virus, although I know many that got it and some that really suffered from it. I feel grateful to have my 95 (almost 96) year old Papi around still especially in Corona times! I am very lucky in so many ways. I choose to see the goodness and the light during these times. I don’t want to be part of the darkness, part of the fear, part of the commercialism, part of the destruction. I only want to put my efforts into putting the light out into the world. I want to be part of healing our planet, saving the animals & saving the health of humanity. There is no bigger wish for me than this. It is gigantic I know, but I dream very big and I feel very responsible because I do believe this is my life work in this lifetime.
I am thankful to all of you that are on this journey with me. I am thankful to all of you out there that are open to listening to my message of health & healing. I am so happy in any way I can improve your life & there is nothing more satisfying than to share with you all the knowledge I learned in healing myself when I was so sick & no one could help me. I know what that feels like and I know what it is like to live with chronic pain since I had horrible migraines for 43 years until homeopathy finally cured me of them. I want to tell each of you to never give up, learn how homeopathy and a clean plant-based diet can help you. I am willing to teach you all I know because I feel good when you don’t have to put your health into the hands of anyone else, including your doctors. If you are interested in learning join my VS CLUB now.
In closing, I just want to say THANK YOU to all of you out there that listen & follow my work. That walk with me on this path of healing & that share the same message. I love all of you & I am grateful we can walk together on this earth. And maybe, just maybe, all of us together can save lots of animals, help save the planet & make a dent in the health challenges of humanity. Remember, “Change your health & changed the world!”
With Gratitude,
Happy Thanksgiving.
