I am always shocked when I meet someone and learn they rarely make their own home-cooked meals or snacks. Why is that I often ask myself? Is it because they never learned to cook? Is it because they are too busy? Or do they just really hate cooking? I understand it takes time but it also takes time and money to eat out or pick up to bring home and it also comes with a high health risk because those foods are always high fat filled with oils. This will catch up to you fast and one day you will face heart disease and type 2 diabetes and sadly it only came from choosing the no-cook convenient lifestyle.
I believe we should be teaching children how to grow food and cook from the time they are able to go to school. Parents should bring kids into the kitchen to cook with them. I bet if you grew up in a family where mom or grandma learned to cook you have a better chance to enjoy it later in life. I understand that it is not something everyone will love but we need better alternatives than eating out, or grabbing packaged food for every meal because there is no way to have good health and feed your body this high fat, sugar and salt foods not to mention a list of ingredients so long we stop reading them. Thankfully there are healthy, vegan delivery services now. but sadly many can’t afford this either. It seems almost like the less money you have the more they target you to eat fast food but that is only because it is subsidized, which makes it look like an affordable option. OMG feeding our body this is accelerating all these lifestyle diseases, in addition, we are pumping more food chemicals into our children’s already toxic overloaded body. I want so much to change this!
Today’s blog is a Recipe VIDEO. I wanted to show you how to make an easy healthy snack or dessert. It is a vegan, of course, .. LOL… no sugar, no added oil donut. YES, that is right a donut. I guess it is hard to imagine but there is such a thing because I use only dates and a banana as the sweetener and I grind my oats to make oat flour then just add baking soda, baking powder, and tapioca starch. So it is also gluten-free for those of you out there that avoid gluten.
If you are reading this and you would like me to do more recipe videos email me from my website and let me know what kind of things you want to learn to make. I have heard from quite a few of you that want me to do more recipes so today I thought I would try one. Click below to watch and learn how to make delicious, healthy vegan donuts. They are really so good that it is hard to believe there is no oil or sugar. Dates and bananas are all you need for this fluffy, yummy and EASY recipe. Be sure to try it because you won’t regret it.
